It can be used to bottle fruit on the stove top and is considered to be the only safe way to bottle non acidic foods such as vegetables as well as meat fish soups and sauces.

NOTES REGARDING GAS BURNERS The issue is with any burner, gas or electric, that has a maximum BTU rating over 12,000 BTU's. The instruction manual states: To prevent damage to the pressure canner, do not use on an outdoor LP gas burner or gas range over 12,000 BTU’s. A high BTU burner will soften the canner causing the bottom to warp. It may also result in property damage and/or personal injury.
Smaller portable gas burners are acceptable as long as the maximum BTU rating is less than 12,000 BTU's. The problem with the higher BTUs gas stoves (like those often used as oil turkey fryers) occurs when they can not be adjusted to a low enough heat setting to maintain the correct pressure in the canner. Yes, the pressure regulator will rock to vent excess pressure once 15 pounds is present in the canner, but if the heat can not be adjusted to maintain a slow gentle rocking motion then there is a real chance that the canner will warp. If the gas stove is such that it can be adjusted to maintain pressure without the pressure regulator rocking wildly, and if the canner is not left unattended then there should be no problem.

ShippingWe use a variety of freight providers to try and provide the best delivery service possible. Delivery may be by Australia Post or another courier service. If you specifically require a particular carrier, please check with us prior to committing to purchase to ensure that our shipping service can accommodate your request. Very large and bulky orders cannot be sent via Australia Post, for instance. Similarly, courier companies cannot deliver to PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers. If you are happy for your delivery to be left in a safe place please indicate this by providing instructions at check out. Without these instructions, couriers will generally leave a card for you to make contact to arrange alternative delivery. If you do not respond to a delivery card within 7 days, the item will automatically be returned to sender. In these instances a redelivery fee will need to be paid if you wish to have the item redelivered. Please note that any transit times displayed for listings are estimates only and we are not the courier company, so once a delivery is in their hands, control of delivery passes to them. If your delivery is delayed we will of course assist where possible to track and trace the delivery status. By default our delivery service is a standard one and not express. If you require an item quickly please contact us to upgrade your shipping to an express service. Shipping costs can be discounted if you are purchasing multiple items. Please follow the correct procedure for requesting a combined invoice and do NOT pay for items until you receive an invoice from us. We are unable to apply retrospective discounts to orders once check-out has been completed. We carefully check and package orders prior to dispatch and you can rest assured that we therefore have a very low rate of breakage in transit. Breakages can be replaced or refunded. Pick ups are available by request from our warehouse on the NSW mid north coast. Pickups are only available during warehouse open hours and not after hours or at weekends or public holidays.
ReturnsPlease choose carefully as we do not offer returns if you have simply changed your mind, found the product cheaper elsewhere, or decided you don't like or need the product. Returns are also not accepted if you have misused a product and have caused or contributed to the failure of the goods, for example, by damaging or misusing the goods. If we have made a mistake and sent you an incorrect item, we will arrange to have it returned to us and provide the correct item to you. We may offer you the option to keep the incorrect goods at a discount. If an item is damaged or faulty, please contact us via messages in the first instance, supplying a description of the problem and photos if possible. We may request that you return the item to us for inspection: in these cases you are responsible for the cost of postage to return the item. You may opt to take a repair, replacement or refund, depending on the outcome of our investigations. We will not ask for broken goods to be returned and if an item is broken inside a box, we request that you salvage unbroken items so we can provide replacements for just the broken or damaged items.
