Claudio Silveira (1935-2007) Uruguayan visual artist, writer and sculptorSon of a Brazilian father and a Uruguayan mother, he lived in the border region until he came to Montevideo to study at the National School of Fine Arts with the painting of master Vicente Martin and engraving with the master Adolfo pastor and With Johnny Friedlaender, it is essential in the technique of printing in Paris when he gets a scholarship from Paris School of Fine Arts . Since 1974 he has settled in Barcelona without losing contact with his country where he has exhibited several times: in the Latin Gallery, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Cabido de Montevideo. He had become a wood sculptor and his works alluded to tales and legends. He used different wooden supports: hard, like pear or lapacho, or more ductile than orange or cedar, or old wooden objects like the back of a bed, a window, a spinning wheel. He taught drawing and led a plastic arts workshop in the city of Durazno in Uruguay

Claudio Silveira (1935-2007) plastic artist, writer and sculptor uruguayo (Rio Branco, Cerro Largo. 15 de enero de 1935 - Barcelona, 2007) Obra plástica Obra literaria References Hijo de padre brasileño y madre uruguaya, lived in the region frontieriza hasta que llegó a Montevideo a estudiar en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes pintura al maestro Vicente Martín y grabado con el maestro Adolfo Pastor. 1 Con Johnny Frieddländer got involved in the technique of the stamp, in París, cuando obtuvo una beca para la Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de París.
